BIO

Teresa Vilaça is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Education in the University of Minho, Braga, Portugal. She got a PhD degree in Education on the knowledge area of Methodology of Science Teaching (University of Minho, Braga, Portugal), a master degree in Education in the specialization of Teaching of Biology and Geology (University of Minho, Braga, Portugal) and a degree in Biology and Geology Teaching (University of Minho, Braga, Portugal). She teaches in the degree of Education and Master’s degrees of Educational Mediation and Supervision in Training, Teaching of Biology and Geology in the 3rd cycle of Basic Education and Secondary Education and Pedagogical Supervision in Science Education. She is supervisor on PhD’ s degrees of Education for Environment and Sustainability and Pedagogical Supervision. She is chair of the Research and Development Community “Health, Environmental and Sustainability Education” of the Association for Teacher Education in Europe (ATEE), co-convenor of the Network 8, Research on Health Education of the European Educational Research Association (EERA), member of the “Core SHE Research Group”, a group that coordinates and facilitates the work of “SHE Research Group” in collaboration with the Secretariat and the SHE planning Commission, member of “SHE Research Group” that is a research group of the Schools for Health in Europe. She supervised 3 doctoral thesis and is currently supervising 4 PhD theses. She has more than 80 publications, including papers in scientific journals, chapters in books and in the proceedings books of scientific meetings. She was co-editor of 7 books and 9 proceeding books.
