Throughout her career, she has dedicated herself to the study of social competences, both in academic research and in clinical practice. She developed an innovative programme focused on the development of social skills in autistic children and adolescents and currently leads the Social Explorers Project, which expands this focus to all children who face challenges in their socio-emotional development.
She is the director of Clínica Infância e Adolescência, with units in Brazil and Portugal, where she coordinates an interdisciplinary team of child development specialists. She is also a lecturer and clinical supervisor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.
