Ana Isabel Guerreiro
Ana Isabel F. Guerreiro is an international expert in children’s rights, whose work focuses on improving children’s lives through the development and enhancement of legislation, policies, and services across different contexts. For several years, she has collaborated with the Regional Office for Europe of the World Health Organization, for which she has developed tools, strategies, and procedures, using the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child as a foundation to improve the quality of healthcare for children and young people.
She also works with UNICEF to promote and implement the Child Friendly Cities Initiative in several countries. Between 2021 and 2025, she worked at the Secretariat of the Committee of the Council of Europe on the Protection of Children against Sexual Abuse and Sexual Exploitation.
She has published several articles on children’s rights in technical and academic journals. In 2024, she coordinated the publication of the book Os Direitos da Criança em contexto de Saúde em Portugal, published by Almedina.
