Luísa Monteiro
Special interests: Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, Otology, Deafness and Cochlear Implants.
Dr. Luisa Monteiro earned her medical degree from Faculdade de Medicina de Lisboa in 1981 and a Master's degree in Audiology from Faculdade de Ciências Médicas de Lisboa in 2004.
She completed her residency in Otorhinolaryngology at Hospitais Civis de Lisboa where she became Senior ENT Consultant.
She ran the Pediatric ENT department at the pediatric hospital Dona Estefânia in Lisbon, where she implemented the Cochlear Implant program. From 2009 to 2013 she was the Adjunct Clinical Director at the same hospital.
Since 2013 she is the head of ENT Department at Hospital dos Lusíadas, Lisbon.
She founded GRISI, the steering group for the implementation of Newborn Hearing Screening (NHS) in Portugal presently affiliated with The World Hearing Forum (WHO)
Author of 2 books: Pediatric ENT (2016) and Audiology (2018), and several booklets on Pediatric ENT.
