Graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) in 1998.
Holds a Master’s degree in Molecular Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (2005).
Holds a Master’s degree in Pediatric Palliative Care from the Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR), Spain (2018).
Master’s thesis: “Pediatric Palliative Home Care Unit of Centro Hospitalar São João – Porto – Portugal.”
Board-certified Pediatrician since 2006.
Pediatric Oncologist since 2016, having worked in the Pediatric Oncology Department of the Local Health Unit of São João, Porto, since 2009.
Pediatric Neuro-Oncologist since 2024.
Member of the Schwannomatosis and Neurofibromatosis Working Group of the European Reference Network GENTURIS.
Member of working groups of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP), European Branch of Pediatric Neuro-Oncology (BTG).
Coordinator of the Mobile Home Care Support Unit (UMAD) at ULS São João – Porto since the beginning of its activity in February 2012.
Coordinator of the Bereavement Support Project of the Pediatric Oncology Reference Center at ULS São João – Porto, initiated in 2018.
Member of the In-Hospital Pediatric Palliative Care Team at ULS São João – Porto since its establishment in March 2020, with responsibility for the Pediatric Oncology area.
