Formative Activity:

Collaborated in the teaching of the Dislexia class with the Escola Superior de Alcoitão and Setúbal School of Health in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010.

Collaborated at the Universidade Católica in the Master’s of Linguagem- Afasia adquirida nas crianças 2001/11 and 2011/12;

Professor in the Master degree in Desenvolvimento e Perturbações da Linguagem na Criança at Universidade Nova de Lisboa in collaboration with Instituto Superior Saúde de Setúbel 2007 until 2010.

Clinical Educator of the 1st, 3rd and 4th grade at E.S.S.A since 1984 and E.S.S.F since 2007.

Scientific Activity

She has conducted several Workshops/ Training Sessions in the field of language pathology since 1981, and has dedicate herself to the study of Linguagem na Leitura since 1991 until the present date.

She participated in research projects of which stands out: 

Avaliação da Linguagem - Projecto Europeu ESCAPE (Biomed1) 1993;

Projecto Europeu de Desenvolvimento Escolar, no âmbito do Programa Sócrates “Prevenção do Insucesso Escolar e Iliteracia nas Crianças com Perturbações Específicas da Linguagem”2001; 

Collaborated in the doctoral work “Caracterização, Avaliação e Intervenção na Dislexia: o Estudo de uma População Portuguesa” made by Dr. Andreia Sofia Ramos Pacheco, scholarship student of the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia 2006

Co-author of Método Habiles- Método Silábico multissensorial para aquisição da leitura escrita 2010;

Main author of bateria “ACLLE” – Avaliação das Competências de Linguagem para a Leitura e para Escrita 2011.

Coordinator of the Terapia da Fala area of the Banco de ajudas Técnico-pedagógicas (BATP) The project is a result of a partnership between Cascais City council and the Centro de Medicina de Reabilitação de Alcoitão (C.M.R.A.) whose protocol was signed on January 8, 2011.

President of the National Congresso Nacional Terapia da Fala e Educação (CNTFE) - HELD AT THE Casa de Historias Paula rego Cascais- 2019

Activity/ Work the community,

Free after-hours work to promote direct and indirect support to children with language disorders in the community of Cascais council through:

Evaluations and guidance to children signed by educator/teacher and/or caregiver of the school associations of the cascais council, 

Promotion of training actions in the various Cascais school associations for awareness and guidance to teachers and educators, to highlight the training sessions with the teachers of the Alcabideche, which receives students from multicultural classes from the main school, from Escola básica Bruno Nascimento and from Escola Básica Malangatana.

One of the founders of the Projeto Saúdeducação- a group of teachers and educators in the municipality of Cascais - which promotes free training and debates in various areas of child development.

Support as clinical supervisor of the therapists of Fala da Aisa and the group of speech therapists (who want to participate) who work in council of Cascais, they meet at least once a month in a room provided by the council of Cascais, where they discuss cases, articles and training.

On May 4, 2017 the Alcabideche school association / Cascais City Council/ Ministry of Education paid tribute to her (DSRLVT dispatch- 31-01-2017), giving the school nº2 in Alcoitãothe name “Escola Básica Gracinda Antunes Valido”, for the work done in the community in the entire municipality of Cascais and the work sharing with Alcabideche association.
