Pedro Pereira

Anthropologist and Professor

Pedro Pereira is an anthropologist and professor. Born in Porto, he holds a PhD in Anthropology and is an Adjunct Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, teaching various anthropological course units in courses at different levels and areas. He is an Integrated Researcher at the Center for Research in Anthropology (CRIA) and his research interests have been in the fields of health and religion. Among the various publications of articles and books, the works stand out: Pilgrims – An anthropological study of the pilgrimages on foot to Fátima (2003) and In search of health – The cult of Our Lady of Health from an anthropological perspective (2021). In the literary field, the publications of the poetry book, Escrita de lume (2019), and the book of short stories, The other side of the street (2021) stand out.
